We suggest you arrive by about 11:00 a.m. and bring along a lunch in a small ice chest. Make sure to bring sun screen, sunglasses, snacks, beverages and shoes or sandals. Reservations are recommended for weekends and holidays.

Besides rafting the Lower American River, the Sacramento area has plenty to offer the out-of-towner. There are theaters, art galleries, night clubs, museums, "Old Sacramento", "Old Town Folsom", many fine restaurants, Raging Waters at Cal Expo, and of course, the State Fair in August.
