If you do not have a working smoke detector in your home please come down to the Chester Fire Department to get a smoke detector. We also give the instructions on how and where to place it. You should have at least one smoke detector on each level of your house. It is good to have one outside or inside each sleeping area, the hallway and near the kitchen. Chester Fire will provide one for each level of your house.
